PoST Maria Alm
There is a double blessing here: Firstly the peace and deep relaxation to be found in the PoSt Boutique Apartments in Maria Alm, which overlook the impressive Steinernes Meer mountain range. Secondly the sight of the sacred pilgrimage church that stands in front of the PoSt, its tall spire rising from the heart of Maria Alm. The aim of the Schwaiger family, who opened the doors of the nine new apartments in May 2021, is to create a place for guests to take a moment, breathe deeply and come to an inner peace. The delicate scent of larch wood wafts through the building. Natural materials such as oak, floor-to-ceiling linen curtains, woollen loden-cloth seat cushions and large travertine stone slabs in the staircase combine to create a grounding atmosphere. A place for those seeking authenticity, tranquility and relaxation. The nine apartments are a mix of minimalism and high-quality furnishings. Generous, extra-high, box-spring beds ensure deep, restful sleep. The starry sky seems close enough to touch through the large panoramic windows. The foundations date back to 1573, later buildings served as a girls’ school, then an inn and tavern, and later a grocer’s, in which a local post office opened—hence the name of the boutique apartment hotel. Maria Alm itself is picturesquely situated amidst the majestic mountains of the Steinernes Meer, the Hochkönig and the Pinzgauer Grasberge, in the middle of the Salzburger Land. Whether you look out onto lush green meadows in the summer or snowy landscapes in the winter, the alpine views from the PoSt make every single day a joy.
