This original Bavarian feeling can be found in villages all over Bavaria, but the almost outrageously perfect picture-book landscape of the Alpine foothills, especially at Lake Tegernsee, is breathtaking. Those looking for the Bavaria feeling par excellence can find it at the Lederer Hof, a beautiful, genuine Bavarian farmhouse, which has more than 150 years and three generations of hospitality under its belt. The Schabmair family used to have cows grazing in the meadows of the Alpine foothills and guests who came to take the summer air. Today, it's more likely to be couples who come for the biking, families for the hiking and swimming, or friends for the boating and the sublime Alpine panorama. In 2019, Laura and Roxan took over Lederer Hof and renovated and modernized it. In order to give guests the Tegernsee feeling in its purest form, they kept the charm of the original farmhouse, but updated it with clean, modern furniture, textiles and surfaces. In the summer, you can start your walk, hike, jog, trail run, Nordic walk or mountain bike ride right from the front door of the villa. You’re directly at the Tegernsee and can swim or take a boat tour. There is also a golf course nearby. And in the evening young and old, ordinary and famous meet at the legendary forest and lake festivals to celebrate. The saying "Hau die hera, samma mehra!" – roughly: Come and join us, the more the merrier – is the motto at the Waldfesten, and also greets guests arriving at the Lederer Hof. Those who come in the winter months can whiz down one of Germany's longest natural toboggan runs, cross-country ski on more than 100 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails, go ice skating, snowshoeing and skiing, and enjoy the enchantingly charming Christmas markets around Lake Tegernsee. It's never boring here!

GOOD TO KNOW:

• Children are welcome, there are also four-person apartments and baby beds are available.
• All prices are for two persons per apartment, final cleaning is included.
• Breakfast with regional products can be booked additionally – and it's worth it!
• WLAN is available in the whole house, sometimes it is limited because of the old walls.
• Only a few meters to the Tegernsee: swimming, sailing, paddling, surfing or just rent a stand-up paddleboard.
• A pleasant walk along the lake, a hike up to the lodges or, if you like to get up early, a real trek to the highest peaks.
• Mountain biking! downhill can get pretty fast, and it's ok to push if uphill gets too steep...
• Jogging! not only around the lake, but maybe up the local mountain. Or Nordic Walking – it’s easier on the knees and is also a good workout.
• Culinary excursions: the natural cheese dairy Tegernseerland, the ducal fish farm Kreuth, many restaurants around the lake.
• Forest and lake festivals with wine and song in summer, nostalgic Christmas markets in winter
