Seedorf Hideaway

Peacefully nestled in a wonderful landscape southwest of Sellin directly on Lake Neuensien lies the Seedorf Hideaway. When you arrive here, the first thing you notice is the vastness. Seedorf, located in the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve, is pleasantly tranquil, a place of absolute peace and relaxation. Here you can enjoy a sustainable vacation without foregoing any amenities. The thatched fisherman's house looks back on a history of over 200 years. Only recently was it extensively renovated and given a new lease on life—and it’s as if the vastness of the outdoors was carried inside. A generous 120m² of living space, spread over the ground floor and attic, opens up, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, an open-plan cooking and dining area as well as an open-plan living room with fireplace. Huge skylights brighten the interior with plenty of natural light. The homey living area is all natural colors with high-quality furnishings. The exposed wooden beams and the dark, massive ceiling rafters give the room an unusual aura and create just the right flair for you to completely let yourself go. As a guest you can enjoy every conceivable luxury: from your own beach with private dock and rowing boat, to a hot tub and outdoor sauna, to a cozy lounge with a lake view and a small library, everything you need to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Not for nothing is this accommodation called Hideaway ...

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

  • The way the old has been preserved and at the same time given space for the new.
  • The location: the Hideaway is situated in an optimal position, which offers an enchanting view of the bodden along the shore and the tower of the Granitz Hunting Lodge, designed by K.F. Schinkel
  • The lounge area is ideal for a really cozy time-out; browse the small library, or just enjoy the heavenly view out the window
  • The modern electronics allow for uncomplicated, mobile and low-stress work: there's a wireless monitor for your laptop and even a Sonos sound system including outdoor speakers.
  • The fabulous outdoor area with sun loungers, garden furniture, beach chairs, pool deck, barbecue, private beach, rowboat and many more amenities lets you enjoy the beautiful countryside all around you
  • When relaxing in the hot tub after a sauna session and enjoying the view or lying on the dock watching the seagulls circling in the sky, you’ll want to press the pause button for a moment and preserve the moment forever ...
  • The Hideaway is perfect for families with children: there's room for everyone—but if it does start feeling crowded (which is unlikely with so much space), you can escape outdoors at any time—and besides, there are plenty of toys and craft supplies to get lost in exciting games, adventures and projects

GOOD TO KNOW:

  • Rügen is Germany's largest island, famous for its mighty chalk cliffs and long coastline of 574 kilometers, and the endless sandy beaches–the mix of sophisticated seaside resort flair and wild-romantic nature is always worth a trip
  • There are also plenty of sights worth seeing here: noble villas, castles (the Granitz Hunting Lodge), piers (the Sellin pier) or the colossus of Prora and the Königsstuhl on the Jasmund Bodden
  • Those who like to be active can go hiking in the biosphere reserve, go sailing at Marina Lauternach or Baabe, kite surfing in Thiessow or Stresow or take an excursion to the island of Vilm
  • By the way, an insider tip of the hosts is the restaurant and vinothek Lieblingsplatz in Seedorf, and in summer the Klangpavillon directly at the south beach promenade in Sellin—it has a sustainable bar concept and offers exciting creations
