Hotel Bella Posta
This hotel has always been a little ahead of its time. When it opened over a hundred years ago, it was one of the first inns far and wide to offer a post office and telegraph connection. Today, the newly renovated and converted hotel in Oberbozen retains its innovative spirit. It is almost certainly the only hotel with an “Dolce Vita All Day” concept, which tastes as good as it sounds: you can feast your way through the entire day with a late riser's breakfast, Italian cuisine with a South Tyrolean touch, and snacks such as crostata or stuzzichini, which you can grab from the buffet between meals. The hotel emanates an uncomplicated, relaxed atmosphere that is soaked up by the guests. The historic main building reopened in March 2026, with stylish rooms and suites decorated in cream tones, sorbet colors, and with a casual 1950s touch. The adjoining annex, with modern studios in dark wood and minimalist design, has been welcoming vacationers since last year. No matter which option you choose, it's beautiful everywhere. The Gioia Spa with an indoor pool, sauna, steam bath, and views of the countryside and the Dolomites is available to all guests. Where stagecoaches once stopped, there is now a spacious garden with old trees and colorful flower beds, where you can wonderfully forget the passage of time. The cable car takes just twelve minutes to descend into the valley, where you can get off directly in the lovely town of Bolzano, which combines the best of both worlds: alpine natural scenery and the flair of old town streets, cafés, and waterfront promenades. The best of South Tyrolean lifestyle.
WHAT WE LIKE MOST:
- The casual, relaxed design with lots of wood, light, and vibrant colors. The rooms, suites, and studios are bright, airy, and unique, with large windows and sweeping views all the way to Bolzano.
- How the hotel has been gently guided into a new era while still honoring its long history and tradition.
- The atmosphere at Bella Posta is relaxed and uncomplicated, almost like visiting friends – thanks in large part to host Gabriel Seppi, who is fully committed to ensuring the well-being of his guests.
- Because the rooms are open and flooded with light, they create a connection to the outside world and bring the outside in.
- How incredibly relaxing a vacation can be when you don't have to worry about anything, don't have to plan anything, and you don't even have to stick to fixed meal times. “Dolce Vita All Day” is the name of the all-inclusive offer for guests
- Because the rooms are open and flooded with light, they create a connection to the outside world and bring the outside in.
- Slipping into the fluffy bathrobe provided in the spa bag, sweat in the steam bath surrounded by the scent of herbs, and then relax in the quiet room with soft lighting.
- Even away from the spa, there are many places to relax and enjoy yourself: the cozy lounges, a reading corner for quiet moments, or the panoramic terrace on the ground floor.
- The connection to Bolzano couldn't be more convenient. The mountain station is a two-minute walk away, and the cable car takes you down the 950 meters to the city every five minutes.
- It is beautiful here in every season: spring brings blooming meadows and mild temperatures, with snow-covered peaks far away in the background; in summer, the lake beckons for a cool swim; autumn offers Törggelen, South Tyrol’s centuries-old tradional wine fest; and in winter, there’s skiing, snow hiking, and the Bolzano Christmas market.
GOOD TO KNOW:
- There are 22 rooms and suites in the main building and 14 studios in the annex; most rooms have a balcony, terrace, or garden. The accommodations are suitable for 2-4 people. Some studios in the annex have a kitchenette.
- “Dolce Vita All Day” includes a breakfast buffet until 11am, snacks and drinks, aperitifs, and dinner. After 9pm, guests can help themselves at the Trustbar.
- Children are very welcome. Baby beds and high chairs are available on request. And in the lounges, there are books and board games for young and old alike.
- Sports equipment can be stored safely and dry in the adjoining building, and hiking backpacks can be borrowed during your stay.
- The Bella Posta used to be a farm, then an inn. Now the Holzner family has breathed new life into it. For generations, they have run the neighboring Parkhotel Holzner, where Bella Posta guests can book massages and wellness treatments: parkhotel-holzner.com.
- Those who can't sit still can grab bikes from the Parkhotel Holzner, play a round of tennis next door, or set off on a hike through meadows and forests. For swimming fun, head to Lake Wolfsgruben or the outdoor pool right in town.
- The house was built and renovated to high South Tyrolean standards for insulation and energy efficiency, exclusively with local craftsmen.
- The South Tyrol Guest Pass RittenCard is included in the price of accommodation: This gives you free use of all public transport in South Tyrol (including the cable car) and numerous experiences on the Ritten plateau. South Tyrol has an excellent transport system, so you can easily leave your car behind. If you still prefer to come with your own car, there are parking spaces next to the house and several charging stations.
- The nearest major airports are Bolzano, Verona, and Innsbruck, and the nearest train station is Bolzano.
