Der Daberer

They’re a little bit crazy—and they’re proud of it ! The Biohotel der Daberer has been a family run business since 1928. Originally founded as a spa and health resort, the building situated in the most delectable corner of Carinthia has continued to grow with each generation. The Daberers have always done things a little bit differently, most recently in 1978 when Inge and Willi Daberer turned the establishment into an organic guest house, some questioned their sanity. Today, two of their children, siblings Marianne and Christian Daberer, run the four-star hotel. They have chosen a small bird for their logo as it represents lightness, closeness to nature and always looking out for an ideal spot to land. There are many of them at the Daberer. Whether on the balcony with a view of the Carnic Alps, in the pleasant warm design of the guest rooms, in the spacious garden or in the NaturSpa, it’s guaranteed that every guest will find their perfect landing spot.

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

• Oak, alder, larch or spruce—natural, regional materials, solid wood furniture and strong colors characterize the simple, clear furnishing style. Work is carried out using local craftsmen.
• All double rooms are south-facing—great views and great light!
• Relax in nature: Flower-covered alpine pastures, fragrant herb and flower gardens, forests, streams and crystal-clear mountain lakes are right on your doorstep.
• Relaxing in the NaturSpa: Selected treatments with natural products, a cute forest sauna, an indoor swimming pool, a spacious garden with sunbathing areas and floating loungers, the barefoot path ...
• Being active in winter: Hiking with or without snowshoes, cross-country skiing, skiing, ice-skating and tobogganing. Being active in summer: Biking in the Gailtal valley, swimming, mountain biking, and much more.
• Delicious slow food cuisine with high quality products from regional producers. Host Christian Daberer is a trained sommelier and finds the perfect wines to match the perfect food.
• The finest of delicacies, from the varied breakfasts to the light lunches, and a five-course gourmet menu in the evening (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free diets are all accommodated effortlessly.

GOOD TO KNOW:

• All three meals are included in the price, as well as bathrobes, use of the spa area and courses or guided hikes.
• Not a children’s hotel in the classic sense, but small guests are very welcome. They choose from the children’s menu, can take part in the children’s program during vacation times, dive into the playroom or romp on the playground—well equipped for small children, from baby beds to nursing pillows and step stools.
• In addition to single and double rooms, there are also family rooms of up to 65 square meters in size.
