Ramsbergerhof

A farm vacation like something out of a (modern) picture book: the rustic Ramsbergerhof is over 450 years old, a real original and for some years now also a small family paradise. While mommies and daddies lie in the deck chairs, gazing dreamily at the Dachstein Mountains and anticipating the Kasnockerln and roast that will be served at dinner, the young’uns are grooming the goats, riding the ponies, or are trying to jump so high on the trampoline that they reach the mountain peaks. It's hard to imagine a better vacation. Both summer and winter offer plenty of activities for young and old ¬ or enough space and cozy corners for relaxed inactivity. Whichever you’d like. The Kahr family – Brigitte and Andreas, their daughters Greta and Johanna, and grandma Gitti – welcome guests like friends, introduce them to life on the farm with joy and enthusiasm, and give great tips for excursions into the region’s wonderful natural attractions. The spacious, rustic apartments are furnished in modern country house style, with lots of wood and natural materials. Most of them also have a tiled stove for cozy evenings. The family has succeeded in preserving the quaintness of the farm while ensuring all the comforts of modern life. A real picture book experience.

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

  • The many small authentic details: every carving, every painting, every picture tells a little story.
  • Quaint but not kitschy: a well-balanced mix of cowhides, tree trunks as stools, checkered curtains and selected pieces of antique furniture, all pleasantly combined with simpler details, lots of space and light create a cozy and modern atmosphere .
  • That there are many great activities and places for children and adults alike.
  • Sinking into the beauty of nature: from the natural swimming pond you have a fantastic view of the Dachstein Mountains.
  • Most of the apartments have a cozy tiled stove.
  • Sheep, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ponies ¬ there is so much to see, feed, and pet on the farm.
  • "Tastes like grandma's" is the motto for the delicious regional classics cooked, fried and baked using the wood-burning stove: Kasnocken, Backhenderl or a juicy roast, apple strudel, Kaiserschmarren....mmmh!
  • The dining room is the old farmhouse parlor ¬ the big question is who gets the place at the tiled stove, or on the wonderful sun terrace?

GOOD TO KNOW:

  • Children are very welcome, there is a playground with sandbox, playhouse, swings and vehicles, for rainy days there’s a playroom with climbing wall and foosball ¬ but the highlight is of course the animals.
  • The apartments come in different sizes, and there’s one double room – perfect for vacation with the extended family, when grandma and grandpa come along...
  • There are guided riding tours on the ponies Schneeflocke and Burli
  • Breakfast is served daily (in the parlor or to go), and dinner is served every day except Sunday.
  • Everything is prepared with regional products ¬ either homemade (you can watch over grandma's shoulder while she’s making butter...) or from the neighboring farm.
  • The hotel has a wellness area ¬ also decorated in country house style ¬ with a steam sauna, infrared cabin and heat bench; a massage can also be booked.
  • The indoor swimming pool of the partner hotel Lärchenhof can be used free of charge.
  • Very ecological: heating is provided by solar energy and pellets.
  • The Ramsau-Dachstein region has many, many activities for families, both in summer and in winter.
  • The friendly family also runs The Chalet: two beautiful luxury apartments in Schladming.Das Chalet": two beautiful luxury apartments in Schladming
