Casale Tre Gelsi
Balmy summer evenings on the terrace with the crunch of gravel underfoot, a cool bottle of wine and tasty treats waiting at the long table. Relaxing afternoons in the sun by or, better yet, in the infinity pool overlooking the natural landscape. Lazy mornings in one of the wonderfully comfortable and bright rooms before a delicious breakfast with specialties from the region. A constant thought here at the boutique B&B Casale Tre Gelsi is, “Oh, this is the life, this is how things should always be...” And with a sigh you sink into a deck chair, squint into the sun and abandon yourself to sweet idleness. The hosts Nelly and Loris spent a long time searching for the perfect place to create a guesthouse entirely to their taste. During their many years of travel, they discovered what is important to them—a sense of the personal, individuality, a place with charisma that’s not too big, a stylish ambience and natural surroundings. They found their place in the Italian region of Marche, between the historic towns of Cingoli and Jesi. Perfectly located for excursions to the Adriatic Sea as well as to hiking routes in the mountains, both areas are scenically and culturally interesting in equal measure. The excellent geographical location is matched by the high standard of the house itself—here you’ll find a 15-meter infinity pool, a huge garden, shared living room and kitchen, terrace with long table and bright, modern and simply furnished rooms. You’re left wanting for nothing. And if there is something, Nelly and Loris will do everything they can to fulfil your wishes. We would be very happy indeed if this really was the life, and how things always were.
WHAT WE LIKE MOST:
- The soft earth tones and natural materials in the rooms—bamboo, wood, wicker, leather, linen....
- The garden with its old olive, fig and mulberry trees
- Natural cinema—the view, unobstructed and enchanting, stretches over the rolling hills to the mountains of the Monti Sibillini National Park.
- The salt-water infinity pool. Wow! You won’t want to get out...
- The hosts themselves have traveled a lot, they take a good night’s sleep very seriously and have put a lot of effort into the choice of beds—large box-spring beds (1.80 x 2 meters) with cozy toppers and handmade linens from a small family business.
- The five bedrooms are named after towns in the region and are all individually decorated.
- The Cingoli room even has a fully furnished private terrace (30 square meters).
- The breakfast with regional delicacies—even better than that, they’re actually from the neighbor’s garden, home produce and kitchen.
GOOD TO KNOW:
- The house can also be rented as a whole villa (four double rooms and a suite with two bedrooms) for up to 12 people; from a yoga retreat to big family gatherings, it’s all possible.
- Children are welcome, baby bed on request.
- All rooms are equipped with both air conditioning and heating.
- There’s a living room with fireplace, a great selection of books and board games.
- Special requests will be gladly catered for—from private chef to pizza and pasta evenings; a guided wine tour to a truffle hunt with a local expert.
- Bicycle rental (also e-bikes) for beautiful tours can be organized on request, with a guide if desired.
- The bicycle garage has a charging station and a small workshop.
- On some evenings, the hosts cook and invite guests to join them at the long table in the courtyard.
- A visit to the neighboring winery Tenuta Tavignano is worthwhile.
- There are restaurants to suit all tastes—from hidden away rustic cooking to Michelin starred restaurants, Nelli and Loris have the best tips.
- The sea in Senigallia is about 35 minutes away—you’ll find a 12-kilometer-long beach with fine white sand, well-equipped lidos and excellent restaurants.
- Thanks to the central location, the beautiful Renaissance city of Urbino, the university towns of Macerata or Cingoli, Jesi and Osimo with their imposing city walls can all be reached quickly by car.
- The hosts speak German, Italian, English, French and Spanish.
