Cirna Gentle Luxury Lodges

The Linter family had a vision: Before reaching the gates of Merano, on the edge of the market town of Naturno in the Vinschgau Valley, a very special place was to be created for vacation guests. It should be close to nature, clear, simple, unobtrusive—yet elegant, high-quality and comfortable, so only the best of everything. The result is the Cirna Gentle Luxury Lodges, which were completed in April 2019. People seeking peace and relaxation will be just as happy here as active vacationers. Some guests are content to enjoy the amenities of the small and exquisite location; the on-site biopool, for example, or the fragrant herb garden and, of course, the apartments themselves with their fantastic views and first-class facilities. The interior style is modern, minimalist and extremely cozy; select pieces of furniture and decoration in black skilfully contrast with the light, warm wood. More active guests are drawn outside into nature—on foot, by bike, or climbing up into the mountains. Nature has centre stage here anyway, not only in the landscape, but also in the architecture, construction and furnishings of the Cirna Lodges. Sustainable materials were carefully selected and used. The clean architectural lines, which continue into the garden design, allow the eye and mind to rest. Indoors and outdoors, you’ll find a place to recharge and return home energized—just as the Linter family planned.

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

  • The sustainable construction—natural and untreated materials such as wood and clay have been used
  • Wood, wood, wood—the facades of the houses are made of larch, inside you can find spruce and oak, which create a warm and cozy atmosphere
  • Large glass frontages provide light and bright rooms
  • The decorative herringbone parquet flooring in the Loft Lodge—more usually found in chic city apartments, enhances the simple elegance
  • The generous room layouts with large and open living-kitchen areas and two bathrooms
  • The impressive view of Juval Castle, a medieval castle with a Romanesque center, privately owned by Reinhold Messer
  • For fresh air fans—all the apartments have either their own garden access (first floor) or their own terrace and balcony
  • Art by Konrad Leimer in each of the apartments. Natural materials are interpreted in his own unique way—it would be hard to represent an apple core or four olives in a more beautiful and effective way
  • A delicious breakfast with regional products can be arranged—it comes in a wooden box to prevent packaging waste
  • Apricot, peach and apple trees can be found in the garden as well as fragrant lavender bushes
  • “Relax naturally” either at or in the beautiful biopool found in the garden

 GOOD TO KNOW:

  • The apartments are all 90 square meters in size and have two bedrooms each, accommodating two to five people
  • Children are welcome, baby beds and highchairs are available on request
  • There is a small collection of games and a well-stocked bookshelf on site
  • The host family lives next door, arrival times can be arranged directly with them, all kinds of special requests can be catered for with what is close to a “concierge service”
  • Each apartment has an infrared sauna, sweating with a view of the mountains, how wonderful!
  • The first-floor apartments in the Golden and Gala Lodge Garden houses are barrier-free
  • You can pick what you need for dinner or lunch in the herb garden
  • There is a mobile barbecue station available, which you are welcome to borrow
  • For active people there are the Waalwege trails, the Meraner Höhenweg summit tours using ferratas, the Vinschger Radweg cycle route and much more
  • For those interested in culture there are numerous castles, palaces, monasteries, residences and museums to be explored in the region
  • Merano is 12 kilometers away and Bolzano 47 kilometers
  • The area is situated amongst peace and quiet, the center of Naturno can be reached on foot in 15 minutes
  • There is a bike and e-bike rental (for a fee) in the village
  • The minimum stay is three days
  • For a day at a mountain lake we recommend the Zirmtaler lake which is surrounded by stone pines
