anders mountain suites

With every kilometer you travel skywards, or up the Plose, the rest of the world recedes behind you bit by bit. At an altitude of 1800 meters you have reached your destination: freedom! You have arrived at the Anders Mountain Suites. A house that is just as unusual as its location: warm wood and plain grey concrete, straight lines and curved shapes blend almost naturally into the unique setting. Endless space and a panoramic view of the ancient, majestic, gray peaks of the Dolomites. This special place is the home of Andreas Plattner, a trained chef. His parents ran a homey South Tyrolean guesthouse with 70 rooms here, but when Andreas took over, he had a completely new concept in mind – a more intimate, more contemporary experience. The old hotel has given way to a spectacular new building designed by South Tyrolean architect Martin Gruber. Inside, a spacious lobby welcomes arrivals - reception, bar, fireside lounge and restaurant all in one. You could call it the living room. Each of the seven suites extend over two floors, and all have their own kitchenette and sauna. A highlight of the custom furnished flats are undoubtedly the panoramic windows, with a phenomenal view of the Dolomites and surroundings. They let the guest become part of the ever-changing spectacle of nature: every time of day, every season comes with its very own play of light and shadow, its own moods. You feel right in the middle of it all and yet secure at this retreat, surrounded by wild nature. As a guest, you have all the freedom you could wish for: would you like to cook your own delicacies in the kitchen or would you rather be cooked for? It’s up to you – although it’s hard to resist the aroma drifting through the house when Andreas conjures up his South Tyrolean goulash or a delicious dumpling risotto. He and his family live on site and he’s always there for the guests – for a chat, an insider tip or two, or even a drink. Here’s to the house, the mountains, the good life, freedom!

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

  • Location, location, location! It's simply spectacular here, we can't repeat it often enough.
  • The extraordinary architecture with its unusual design concept of clear lines and organic forms.
  • How the building manages to make a striking statement without pushing itself into the foreground.
  • The guest concept: with only 7 suites, there is an air of family. Like the fact that host Andreas prepares small seasonal and regional dishes every day and invites guests to his own dinner table (the invitation is on the house). Of course there is also a fine menu from which guests can choose various dishes and courses.
  • Those who’d rather “stay in” can prepare their own meals in the beautiful rooms. They don’t even have to go shopping – Andreas keeps baskets of ingredients for regional dishes ready for them.
  • The "living room": an open space with a fireplace and – of course –great view, where diners, wine drinkers, coffee connoisseurs, and anyone seeking company meet.
  • The Honesty Bar: host Andreas offers his guests ever-changing delicacies: when it smells like apple strudel throughout the house, it's hard to resist...
  • Direct access to hiking trails and ski slopes - ski in/ski out, it doesn't get any better than that.

GOOD TO KNOW:

  • The anders mountain suites will open on 3 June 2022 - to celebrate, guests will receive an opening discount of 20% for stays of four days or more.
  • Breakfast with fine homemade and seasonal delicacies is provided as a buffet in the restaurant area or in a basket for the flat.
  • All suites are suitable for 2 persons, have a well-equipped kitchenette, terrace and bathroom with Finnish sauna.
  • There is a wine cellar where guests may serve themselves, payment according to the honor system.
  • The restaurant offers high-quality, regional and seasonal cuisine with Alpine and Mediterranean influences and is open to the public.
  • Children from 12 years old are welcome
  • The "anders" is located in the middle of the Plose ski area, which comprises over 40 km of ski slopes and 12 km of toboggan runs; the highest mountain station is at an altitude of approx. 2500 meters.
  •  In summer you can go on wonderful hikes or mountain bike tours on the Plose – a dip in a mountain lake or a forest picnic is a must.
  • The Brixen-Card, included in the rental fee, offers many discounts (cable car, public transport, entrance fees).
  • The pretty town of Brixen is about 20 km away and offers a wide range of cultural and gastronomic activities.
  • The nearest airport is in Bozen, about 50 km away.
