Haus und Hof Appartements

It’s almost as if the three terraced house and courtyard flats grow right out of the mountain. The staggered cubes are striking, their consistent lines modern, and yet they appear discreet because they sit perfectly into the hillside plot—a rugged slope at your back and to the front, the mountain panorama of the Salzburg countryside. It quickly becomes obvious that someone with a clear vision and a passion for design and modern architecture is the mastermind behind this. Also someone who knows the location well, here at the edge of the forest and village and who appreciates these surroundings very much. The interplay of architecture and nature, where the strict geometric forms contrast with the organic shapes of the surroundings is perfectly thought out. The Haus und Hof hosts Magdalena and David are united by both their passion for urban design as well as their love for their home region. The young couple lives next door with their two children, so they know the area like the back of their hands. With great attention to detail, careful consideration and good planning, they built their three hillside houses in collaboration with Feuersinger architects. The interior is as modern as the exterior. Reduced design and clear lines catch the eye here, too. The walls and ceilings are black, just like the exterior façade of the house. The light wood of the furniture and kitchen fittings, and the grey concrete floor form a nice counterbalance and bring warmth to the flats. The highlight of the hillside houses is the atrium between the rooms. It provides the living rooms at the back of the property with an outlook, creates connection and also serves as a sheltered open-air room with privacy. A great idea!

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

  • The unusual architecture with staggered flats that adapt to the slope.
  • The interior design is reduced, elegant and modern.
  • The atrium between the rooms—a sheltered retreat under the open sky for yoga, meditation, a good book or a nap
  • The large panoramic window with a view of the Salzkammergut, it’s floor-to-ceiling and frameless—almost as if you were sitting in amongst nature.
  • The “Magis Spun” rotating chair in the courtyard—a work of art and fun piece of furniture in one (children will love the “rocking chair”!)
  • The large living room with kitchen island, desk and sofa corner (the “Cloud” sofa by Prostoria is the central meeting point for everyone.)
  • Each flat has its own, very spacious garden-terrace plot.
  • The high-quality furnishings with pieces of furniture by Prostoria, Jan Kurtz and Moormann
  • Those who love to cook will appreciate the first-class kitchens.
  • The attention to detail is also reflected in the individually selected crockery and ceramics.

GOOD TO KNOW:

  • Not only is each flat designed with flair they also have a little something extra—App. 1 (4 to 6 people) an elevator directly from the underground car park, App. 2 (6 to 9 people) a sauna.
  • The underground car park (with electric charging point) allows cars to disappear, opening up an unobstructed view of the landscape.
  • A special touch—on arrival, guests are met with a full fridge.
  • The village of Hof is only five minutes on foot—also called the gateway to the Salzkammergut region.
  • You can book all three flats together.
  • The emerald-green glittering Fuschlsee is only two kilometers away and Schloss Fuschl, formerly the setting for the famous "Sissi" films, is also not far away.
  • The best of both worlds—Salzburg can be reached by car in 20 minutes. Culture and shopping are just as accessible as hiking, cycling, running, mountain biking or skiing.
  • A beautiful hiking trail leads straight from the house into the forest and up into the mountains, where there is an abandoned bear cave to visit.
