What an enchanting wood-cutter’s house! Chic, charming, very casual and simply world-class, it nestles into the mountainside at the center of the Styrian Schladming Dachstein region and makes the hearts of all mountain lovers beat faster. Because here at the Holzhackerin, they can find everything they long for all year round right outside the door: mountain air, mountain sports, mountain culture - both in summer and in winter. Super cosy with beautiful wooden floors, window seats, sauna, and a terrace with its own mountain sunset backdrop, the four apartments offer a modern yet comfy setting in a clean design, with no trace of bearskin rugs or deer antlers. The wooden alpine chairs are the onlz reminder of traditional mountain décor. The smallest of the four apartments is a beautiful hideaway for a romantic weekend for two, the largest is perfect for a get-away with friends. Its location on the top floor lets in loads of sunlight, and as a bonus, a large tiled stove warms up the large kitchen-living room in winter. In the mornings a sumptuous breakfast is served in the “good parlor,” and in the evenings the best wines are lined up for you to serve yourself. Lace up your hiking boots! Pump up the tires on your mountain bike! Fasten your ski boots! Outside the door of the woodcutter's house, a unique outdoor paradise awaits, ready to be conquered - hiking trails, mountain bike routes, downhill trails and via ferratas in summer; in winter, the door opens directly into a snow-white winter sports paradise. Strap on the skis, into the gondola, and you’re off!!

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

• The clear, beautiful wooden construction of the house
• The light wood in the four apartments, which exudes cosiness.
• The abundance of light through the floor-to-ceiling panorama windows and the view of the stunning mountain scenery, directly from your bed. Nowhere else can you wake up to a more beautiful view.
• The most spectacular sunsets are to be found here - the best spot far and wide.
• Traditional elements such as coffered ceilings, tiled stoves and wooden beams are to be found in every room, yet the coordinated decor still conveys an elegant lightness.
• The sauna. Each flat has its own – relaxation as it was meant to be!
• The wine fridge in the parlor, from which you can help yourself. You can enjoy the good wines on the spot in the cosy lounge chairs.
• The rich breakfast with Grandma Friederike's homemade food, made with products from regional farms.
• On arrival, coffee and tea are available in the apartments – put down your bags, take a deep breath...
• The small, fine selection of books in the parlor library 
• The vegan skin care products by the sustainable brand "BE [...] MY FRIEND". 
• The perfect location in the middle of the Planai bike park (and of course right next to ski slopes, gondola, hiking trails).
• It's hard to decide whether to come in winter or summer - both are simply wonderful here.

GOOD TO KNOW:

• The house is the perfect starting point for every possible mountain sport.
• 123 kilometers of pistes, 4-mountain ski circuit, 43 cable cars and lifts, 56 ski huts with delicacies, wide pistes, top-of-the-line snow equipment for the best preparation and maintenance, the Klangpiste and the Steirereck ski slopes for the perfect day in the snow, and a 7-kilometer toboggan run.
• The Planai cable car zips you up to the Schladming Bike Park with the Flowline, Uphill Flow, and Jumpline trails. The Flowline down into the valley is brand new!
• 300 mountain lakes, 1000 springs, 100 waterfalls, Donnersbachklamm, Silberkarklamm and Wörschachklamm, and then a suspension bridge - it's beautiful here in summer too.
• Pick-up on arrival by train, ski bus is also available.
• There is a separate outdoor room where ski boots can dry overnight, hiking boots can be aired out, mountain bikes cleaned and skis waxed. Bikes are safely stored overnight in the bike room, sockets for e-bikes are also available.
