Les Cabanes d’Ostende
Nestled between dense trees and tall wildflower meadows, the charming cottage village of Les Cabanes d’Ostende awaits discovery! Nine luxurious chalet-style accommodations are set within a landscaped park in the Belgian coastal town. Although conveniently close to the town center, the glamping spot feels wonderfully far away from it all. Whilst well secluded, the cabins have nothing to hide—owners Youri and Natacha proudly describe them as “the most beautiful in the world,” and stepping inside, it’s easy to see why. The interiors are designed for both comfort and style, with curved bentwood cladding creating a cozy atmosphere. Muted natural tones, greenery, soft sheepskins and inviting armchairs add to the warmth. The custom-built kitchens make exceptional use of space. Without sacrificing modern comforts, guests can enjoy the feeling of being immersed in nature. The best place to experience this is on the terrace—wrapped up in a blanket, under the evening sky, counting the stars, listening to the rustling of the trees and breathing in the fresh sea air.
WHAT WE LIKE MOST:
- The original concept that combines a sense of adventure and luxury
- The large, floor-to-ceiling windows that invite the outdoors in
- The opportunity to pick your own lamb’s lettuce, beet or lemon thyme in the vegetable garden
- The innovative Groundfridge by designer Floris Schoonderbeek, a modern day take on a traditional root cellar. Behind a heavy door, a few steps lead down to the honesty shop, where guests can stock up on regional products.
- The satisfaction of working with your hands again—splitting your own firewood in the Woodyard for the log-burning stoves
- Fresh eggs straight from the henhouse, where happy hens roam freely
- Every cabin has an electric cargo bike (perfect for dogs, children or shopping) and two traditional bicycles. The “Green Belt” cycling and walking route leads directly to the beach and to the stores, restaurants and cafés of Ostend.
- The high-quality kitchenware from Le Creuset with color-coordinated ceramics
- The cleverly designed children’s rooms featuring fun bunk bed alcoves
- The simple, but really good, wellness concept with swimming pond, panoramic sauna and wood-fired whirlpools, available in select cabins
- The welcoming hosts, always happy to share recommendations for restaurants, events and local excursions
