Love Hvar

Love Hvar used to be a cozy family home. Jozos Novak’s childhood memories of warm summer evenings in the small garden, relaxed siestas in the shade of the house and wonderful days at the beach are still very much alive. Today he is the host of Love Hvar, created by transforming his home into a guest house with three designer apartments. Hvar is a Croatian vacation island in the middle of the Adriatic, and is a little piece of paradise unto its own with historic buildings, great beaches and numerous restaurants and cafés. The location of Love Hvar is perfect, right in the center of the small harbor town, and yet only 15 meters from the beach. All of the apartments are furnished in a contemporary and minimalist style with some handmade furniture and great designer lamps. Add in the views of the sea and the Franciscan monastery opposite and you’ll find beauty wherever you look. Love Hvar is a piece of Jozo’s history and incorporates everything that is meaningful to him—his love for his home town, traditional crafts, the local community, travel experiences and childhood memories. All of this finds expression in the lovingly chosen details and the warm atmosphere he has created. Jozo has made a dream come true here and he’s happy to share his personal love story with his guests.

• The minimalist modern furnishings combined with traditional handicrafts from across the Balkan region—tiles from Macedonia, wood carving from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and design from Croatia

GOOD TO KNOW:

• Three apartments are available for bookings: The Palm Tree Studio, the Seafront Studio and the Seaview Penthouse. All of the apartments have air conditioning. Whether for a social get-together, a short vacation for two or a luxurious retreat, everything is possible here.
• Children are welcome from the age of 16.
• Thanks to the central location, stores, bars and restaurants, etc., are all within walking distance.
• There are many well-known beaches nearby, such as the Pakleni Island coves and several town-beaches.
• Great for water sports enthusiasts—you can go snorkeling and diving on the Pakleni Island chain (locally translated as Hell’s Islands) located off the coast of Hvar.
• Kayaking, hiking, boat and quad tours are all possible nearby.
• Hvar also has a lot to offer culture enthusiasts, e.g. a visit to the Fortica Španjola fortress, summer concerts in the Franciscan monastery or a visit to the historic Stari Grad, the “old town” in the north-west of the island.
• Host Jozo is also happy to share his recommendations for cafés, bars and restaurants, day trips and favorite places, e.g. the lavender fields, a real highlight on the island, or a boat trip to the Blue Cave.
• Hvar is reached by car ferry or catamaran from Split or Dubrovnik.
