Black Forest gateau, lace doilies and the “Bollenhut”, a traditional Black Forest hat, are a thing of the past. The renovation of the former hotel mainly used sustainable materials and local woods, such as pine and fir, which create a cozy atmosphere. And the lively wooden facade blends in perfectly with the mountain panorama. A photovoltaic system and thermal solar system are installed on the roof, giving the property a correspondingly high energy standard. Inside, the 12 fully equipped vacation apartments are furnished in a modern Black Forest style: Warm colors combined with state-of-the-art technology and sleek, high-quality furnishings with a Scandinavian flair. A mountain view or a valley view? Whether studio, apartment or family room, all accommodation options have a balcony or terrace as well as floor-to-ceiling windows with a view outside. Take time out to relax and unwind. Whizz down the slopes, or simply forget the stress of everyday life in the small, but beautiful spa area: For example, in the Finnish sauna with panoramic views of Todtnauberg—it’s an absolute highlight! The mountain village is located in a high valley at an altitude of 1000 to 1400 meters—and the stuub todtnauberg directly on the ski slope. There are five pistes, totaling 16 kilometers and endless views. In summer, a great practice course is built below the house lift for bikes, skateboards and scooters. You can also enjoy wonderful hiking, cycling and mountain biking. There’s the slope, there’s the forest, and the valley’s always in view!

• The Upper Black Forest region is a premium spot for hiking: Numerous routes lead through here—for example, the 12-kilometer-long Feldbergsteig on idyllic and narrow paths around the Feldberg mountain.
