Villa Alma
When the sun peeks out from behind the mountain as you’re standing on your balcony with the morning’s first cup of coffee looking out over the calm lake – that’s about as close to pure bliss as it gets. At the historic Villa Alma on Lake Wolfgangsee, bliss is part of the package. The house was reopened in 2022 after it was renovated and is part of the Heym Collections hospitality company. Eight stylishly furnished rooms and suites await guests who enjoy elegance, originality, and a personal touch. Outside: a spacious terrace, comfortable sun loungers and a private beach right at the doorstep. Inside: Spacious rooms and suites with everything you could wish for, plus friendly, warm-toned fabrics and contemporary shapes. The effect is light, modern and inviting. As soon as you arrive, you’ll want to slip into a light summer dress and cycle around the lake. Or maybe into a bikini and sunbathe on a lounger? Or hop on a paddle board and head out onto the water? Hmmm … first a coffee in the hotel's own deli while planning the day. In the evening - from Thursday to Sunday - you can feast on a delicious menu together with other guests in the dining room. In winter, enchanting snowy walks around the lake beckon, with a soothing end-of-the-day breather in the hotel's own sauna in the pretty garden shed. Whether travelling as a couple, alone, or with children ¬ everyone will find their portion of bliss here.
WHAT WE LIKE MOST:
- The playful lightness of the design – this is what summer freshness looks like.
- The cozy breakfast room with a fantastic view of the lake and the striking mountain peaks
- All rooms have their own balcony and a view of the lake.
- The curved, soft and flowing patterns and the pastel tones of the interior
- The wonderfully cozy large beds
- The fact that there are "only" eight rooms and suites, which makes it a very personal retreat
- The delicious café and all the other delicacies – at Villa Alma, they know what's good and good for you
- The direct access to the lake, including a private beach with sun loungers: out of the door, into the water
- The outdoor sauna in the shingle-covered garden house for cooler days ¬ if you dare, jump into the lake to cool off.
GOOD TO KNOW:
- During the day, fresh snacks and coffee are available in Alma's day bar, if there's no one around the Honesty Bar is there to help.
- With "Alma's Food Stories" chef Özkan Erbulan provides culinary delights, not only focusing on the best quality but also on animal welfare: the international menus include tasty non-cultivated local vegetables, while for meat dishes he uses XO beef from mature cows.
- Here are family rooms, including one with two separate bedrooms
- Bikes and SUPs can be rented on site and are free-of-charge for guests, as is the sauna.
- For sports enthusiasts there is a tennis court behind the house, just ask the hotel team for rackets.
- Alma's rowing boat "Zerob" and the motor boat "Ottoline" can be rented for trips and picnics.
- A library and a large selection of board games are available for bad weather days.
- The shop and concept store offer selected delicacies from the region, jewelry, accessories, decorations, cosmetics ¬ all beautiful, practical and tasty items.
- The Lakeside Lounge can be hired for seminars or celebrations (30m²).
- Salzburg is about 40 minutes away by car; Bad Ischl, the Kaiserbad, is about 30 minutes away by car.
- The pier for a boat trip on the nostalgic paddle steamer Franz Josef is not far away and well worth a visit.
- The nearby cable car leads up to the Zwölferhorn (and is even suitable for baby carriages!), the view from the Schafberg at 1780m is also fantastic ¬ a cog railway, the Schafbergbahn, takes you up to the top.
- In winter you can go to the Postalm ski area, small and beautiful and only 15 minutes away.
