Ca la Vall

Spending more time with friends and family, taking things slower and more mindfully—that’s what Dutch couple Marco and Isabelle were longing for when they started looking for a vacation home in Spain. When they found what they were looking for, they soon realized that they felt at home on the Costa Blanca and made a complete move south. In order to share the ease of Mediterranean life with others, they’ve created a favorite place for vacation guests to take a deep breath. Twenty minutes from the coast, Ca la Vall is located in the charming village of Llíber. When you discover the townhouse in the narrow cobbled street, the first thing you notice is the natural stone façade. The style continues inside with exposed walls of rough stone alternating with white plastered surfaces. Between the historic wooden ceilings, arts and crafts and the casual mix of old wooden stools, custom-made furniture and modern design, you simply can’t help but feel at home. The same goes for the Acapulco Chair on the balcony, where you can daydream with a view of the vineyards and the roofs of the village—for example, of doing the same thing as Marco and Isabelle and settling down in this wonderful spot.

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

• How successfully the traditional and rustic merge with the new at Ca la Vall. The original wooden beams, doors and natural stone walls are perfectly coordinated with the modern interior.
• The design in warm, natural tones that reflect the colors of the surrounding landscape
• The home textiles made of soft natural materials, the many cacti and the decorations made of dried flowers and branches that create a cozy atmosphere in and around the house
• The stylish kitchen in matt black and the washbasins in the bathrooms, which look like a hollowed-out stone
• Beautiful ceramics that make dining together a delight
• The tastefully selected furniture, some of which may inspire you for your own home, such as the velvety living room couch in rust red
• The small courtyard, which provides shade on hot days
• The location in the middle of the village makes you feel like a local—especially if you start the day with breakfast in the village square.

GOOD TO KNOW:

• The village house Ca la Vall has two floors, two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and sleeps four people. There’s an open kitchen, dining area and living room.
• Care products from The Spa Collection are available in the vacation home.
• A barbecue is available for those who’d like to throw something delicious from the market on the grill.
• Vall de Pop is a great place to soak up the Spanish way of life, for example, at one of the many festivals in the region or a visit to the famous Jalón flea market.
• Just two minutes from the house, there is a saltwater pool plus a baby pool. 
• From the village, you can hike directly into nature, explore one of the dozens of hiking trails in the valley or cycle up the Coll de Rates.
