Some places are made for just taking your time and doing less - or better - just doing nothing at all. They take you by the hand and gently let go when you're ready to let go yourself. Follonico is such a place. Pretty quickly you reach a wonderfully light feeling state here. Which is probably also due to the owners Suzanne and Fabio, who exemplify slow living. A good nine years ago, they renovated the old farmhouse and made it their home. With respect for the history that lies in the natural stone masonry from the 18th century and for the surroundings around it. And this surrounding is more than the typical image of Tuscany with the rolling hills, the olive groves and the vineyards. It is also the animals that live on the farm and the plants, with their Mediterranean colors and scents. Nature has its permanent place here and space to unfold. Everything is in balance, rustic alternates with delicate. Reddish brickwork is followed by calm sage green. The interplay of natural elements is also found in the 6 rooms: natural lime paint on the walls, linen bed cover, smooth black leather of the modern couch, antique wooden doors as wall decor, white ceramic wash bowls in the bathroom. The interior is a mixture of vintage design and contemporary elements. Simple, natural and modern at the same time. Thus, the interior design creates clarity. The rustic farmhouse itself provides a sense of security. And the garden, nature, the vastness of the countryside - are at your feet and invite you to let yourself slide into the day. Nothing easier than that.

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

• Suzanne and Fabio make you feel at home. They live with their children on Follonico, manage the farm according to organic guidelines and are always there for their guests.
• There are so many beautiful corners to relax, whether with a book in the garden, at a spot by the pool, in the evening with a glass of wine under a pergola, etc.
• The organic breakfast is served in 2-3 courses and is like a regional feast of sweet, savory and hot dishes. Much comes from the farm - vegetables and eggs and not to forget: Fabio's famous sourdough bread. Supplemented by products from local organic producers in the immediate vicinity. Regional, homemade and organic is the maxim.
• The furnishings of the rooms: natural, reduced, with modern pieces as well as objects that exude their retro chic. Great, successful mixture.
• There are two external rooms in the annex with private terrace: the garden rooms. The even more exclusive retreat, so to speak. Breakfast is even served on your own terrace. You wonder if you even need to leave your room on vacation; it's enough to take a step outside onto the small terrace, sink into a chair and enjoy the amazing view.
• Each room is different in size. While one is a bit more luxurious, because it is bigger and has a fireplace, the other one opens the view to the panorama of Montepulciano. The next one is designed in the style of a loft without barriers and doors.
• Quality is also a priority for the fabrics in the rooms: the bed linen and towels are made of fine Italian fabrics from the traditional Busatti brand
• A reason to get married: at Follonico you can celebrate your wedding in a small, intimate circle. Nature, romance, fairy-tale scenery, perfect light - it's all there.
