Füchslhof

In the midst of apple orchards and vineyards lies a small paradise for all those who love the real country life. The Füchslhof, in the small municipality of Marling west of Merano, is run by the Wolf family. It invites you into the enchanting village idyll and to experience the hustle and bustle of a farm up close. The names of the 70 or 90 m² flats alone speak for themselves: Olive Grove, Vineyard, Herb Studio and Far View. They conjure up picturesque images – and that is exactly what awaits you. The scent of herbs and flowers pours in thorough the open windows, which offer a view of a fabulous mountain panorama. Steel, concrete and a lot of wood transform the interiors into a farmhouse parlor 2.0, where modernity, comfort and tradition are so intertwined that you can instantly feel at home and let yourself go. One highlight is the Zirmstübele, a room made entirely of local Swiss stone pine. It can be used as a cozy retreat, but is also perfect as a second bedroom or children's room. Since the Füchslhof is a place for the whole family, there is also an outdoor pool, a playground for little adventurers, and a beautiful garden where there is always something new to discover – fruit, vegetables, flowers, herbs, berries ... Enjoy the peace and quiet, recharge your batteries, or let your mind wander. One thing is certain – everyone will find their own special place at Füchslhof, and find themselves wanting to want to stop time for a moment ... 

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

• The Füchslhof has managed to take the traditional South Tyrolean parlor to a whole new level: each flat, with its high-quality, modern furnishings, radiates incredible comfort and warmth.
• Each apartment has its own (really) huge terrace with adjoining garden, bench, chairs, table and sun loungers – an invitation to put your feet up and take in the fabulous view!
• Wood, wood, everywhere wood – the entire solid wood interior was handmade by a carpenter; the wooden floor with floor heating not only provides a feel-good ambience, but also cozy warmth in winter or pleasant cooling in summer.
• A small library, countless board games, many magazines, and of course the outdoors – here you will find everything except boredom.
• If you have the opportunity, you should definitely take part in one of the weekly farm and garden tours, where you can fully immerse yourself in authentic country life.
• Pure relaxation: the quiet location amidst the orchards and vineyards with a fantastic view over one of the most beautiful areas of South Tyrol makes it particularly easy to switch off; the saltwater pool and the panoramic lawn with sun loungers are highly recommended ... 

GOOD TO KNOW:

• No one, really no one should skip breakfast! For an extra charge, you can enjoy the farm's own regional delicacies (from fruit spreads to dried fruit and tea to fine herbal salt – everything your gourmet heart desires, plus the village baker's delicious freshly baked bread); you can eat on the large breakfast terrace right next to the enchanting garden.
• The popular MeranCard is included in the room rate: it is valid for the entire stay and allows free use of all public transport in South Tyrol; in addition, guests receive various discounts and one-time free admission to around 80 museums and other places of interest.
• The Füchslhof is perfectly situated and is the ideal starting point for excursions to Bolzano (33 km), Merano (3.5 km), Trauttmansdorff Castle (7 km), the Merano 2000 ski area (10 km) or for hiking around the car-free Vigiljoch (5 km).
• In the immediate vicinity, there is not only skiing in winter, but also mountain biking on numerous trails or cycling on great cycle routes, fishing, horseback riding, climbing, paragliding, rafting, canyoning ... all before a breathtaking mountain backdrop.
• The Wolf family offers a pick-up service from the train station in Marlengo or Merano/Untermais.
• The minimum stay is one week in high season, otherwise five nights.
