When the hustle and bustle is simply too much, we can simply pack it in and rise above it. At an altitude of just under 1400 meters lies the Gruberhof, directly on the sun-drenched Kreuznerberg in Lüsen in the province of Bolzano. Locals affectionately call this idyllic mountain farm “Gruiba.” Here we find refuge in the silence that surrounds everything. Refuge is also the name of the holiday apartment. The 84m² accommodation is like a quiet, peaceful island, a haven of peace. As soon as you enter, you feel safe and secure. A real feel-good place, flooded with light and cozily furnished with lots of wood that radiates pleasant warmth. The special thing about it is its unique and secluded location. There is enough space and time to reflect on the essentials and simply relax. A stay at the Gruiba is a holiday for all the senses. The view from the windows is an impressive 180° natural cinema. It stretches from the Lüsen Mountains to Trentino and always has a new program in store: spectacular starry skies, colorful meadows and forests, surreal alpenglow or exciting snow flurries – there is something for everyone. You can hear cattle lowing, chickens clucking, goats bleating, or a concert of birdsong. And there is the smell of fresh hay, flowering meadows and fragrant oils from the sauna. Everything also tastes so good and genuine: the breakfast eggs from the farm's own chickens, the freshly picked apples, or potatoes harvested from the garden. And when you step back and take a deep breath, you realize how much the Gruiba does a body good. A place to remember – for precious time-outs.

WHAT WE LIKE MOST:

• The Gruberhof loves children and children love the Gruberhof; probably because there is SO much to discover: ants in the forest, butterflies on the flowers, highland cattle in the pasture, new tricks on the slackline, the climbing wall, the pingpong table, board games, books in the reading corner, and and and …
• The impressive stories of the two hosts, Andrea and Uli, who came in quite a roundabout way to realize their big dreams of a mountain farm in South Tyrol.
• The apartment named Zuflucht (Refuge) leaves nothing to be desired: it has a spacious anteroom with foyer and wardrobe, a full bath and half-bath, two bedrooms, a living room with dining table and a fully-equipped kitchen with everything you need.
• Even wellness is included: you can really enjoy yourself in the 42m² sauna area with a relaxation room and great mountain views.

• Specially selected materials were used in the construction of the house: clay bricks, lime plaster, untreated local spruce, larch and Swiss stone pine, natural stone slabs made of local gneiss and blackplate.

• Children up to 3 years stay free of charge.
• A transfer service is available for those arriving by public transport.
• In the small farm shop you can stock up on fine Gruiba delicacies: apple juice, chicken eggs, spreads, syrup, compote ... the nearest supermarket is in Lüsen, which is about 15 minutes away by car.
• Bed linen, towels, bathrobes, sauna towels, and slippers are provided for each guest.
• Hard to believe when you consider the location: fast fiber-optic internet is available to guests.

• No matter what time of year you arrive, a relaxing hike is highly recommended, around the Lüsner and Rodenecker Alm alpine pastures, for example.
